On December 3 and 4 2022, The Lebanese Psychiatric Society (LPS) organized the mental health congress of 2022 at the Lebanese Order of Physicians, Beirut. Interesting and new researches were discussed by professionals under the theme of Mental Health of the Lebanese in 2022: Information, Interventions and Hope.
On the first day, Dr. Elie Karam, head of MIND clinics and IDRAAC, presented the predictors and severity of probable Acute Stress Disorder following the Beirut Port Blast based on our research.
He also presented the “John Fayyad Research Award” to psychiatry resident Dr. Michele Cherro.
Also, on the second day, Dr. Georges Karam from our team, gave a presentation about Ketamine and Psilocybin Treatments and discussed the latest studies around this topic.
Finally, during the session dedicated to NGOs working on community mental health support, Lea El Korh from our team gave an overview of our Psychogeriatric Care services provided to our community members and particularly to older persons. This event was also an opportunity to highlight our research, clinical and community work with our local and international partners.
