Dr. Elie Karam, Adult Psychiatrist (Head of MIND and President of IDRAAC) participated in the 21st World Psychiatric Association (WPA) Virtual Congress where he gave his presentation in the Presidential Session on Public Mental Health.

The congress was held as a virtual meeting from October 18-21, 2021 attracting leaders in mental health and providing forums for shared learning and collaboration.

This congress provides a platform for knowledge exchange, discussions and a gathering place of leaders in mental health with world-class experience tackling the new challenges for psychiatry & mental health. 

In his presentation titled: "Temperament: The Forgotten Dimension", he shared findings from IDRAAC's research on temperament such as the temperament profile of the total Lebanese population through IDRAAC's national study on the prevalence of mental disorders.

In addition, he shared a recent clinical study related to the temperament profile of bipolar and non-bipolar outpatients where measuring temperament in patients was found as a very helpful tool in understanding and conceptualizing their conditions.
