Why War's Emotional Wounds Run Deeper for Some Kids and Not Others?

In his article in Science News, Bruce Bower explains the differences in the reactions of children to war traumas based on one of the latest published studies by MIND's sister organization IDRAAC: "Role of Childhood Adversities and Environmental Sensitivity in the Development of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in War-exposed Syrian Refugee Children and Adolescents" which was published in the British Journal of Psychiatry in January 2019.

Dr. Elie Karam, Adult Psychiatrist and Head of MIND, was interviewed in this article in an effort to clarify why some people suffer from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following war traumas while others are not that affected.
